It is so very quiet on the forum these days.. It's almost scary even if it is winter on the northern hemisphere. So, just to annoy all you landlocked city dwellers I tought I would post a mobile-shoot of the view from my office. Shot just this morning around 0930 hours. We even have a small cormorant colony prividing entertainment.
So, anyone with a better view? At least you Robi should have some.

Kinda hard to see anything hanging out at 10K ft altitude. Just another day in the office.

There sure is Isvoranu. We are just now hiring a new logistics/supplier manager. If you are a chemist, engineer (mechanics, process, electrics etc) or similar you can always send an open application. You would have to learn norwegian tough, as our in-house language is norwegian even if the corporate language is english. But how is the view from where you work?
Robi, in hindview I think I would be happier with something like what you do instead of working with computers. Thanks for sharing!
Simon, you work in the city, dont you?

Rolf, a few days ago Al Gore was up in Oslo, accepting his Prize for his movie/book. Oslo got a lot of air time here in the US as a backdrop to Gore's work. The thing that made me laugh was the CNN TV guy was impressed by the children all singing carols in English, and that their English was so good (as is yours). They must teach it in early school?
Anyway, the decorated city in the background looked beautiful.

Ok, I know this will be considered cheating but I only need a laptop, paper some pencils and an internet connection to do my job. That means I can do it while travelling, and a lot of objectives are outside the city, so the view from work is either the computer display or nature scenery. Does going fishing with your client is considered working ? Rolf, that view is fantastic, unfortunatelly I'm not an engineer or chemist. Robi, I will always trade the view of the computer display with your view. Anything is better than sitting in front of the PC.

Good topic Rolf. I'll try to make a contribution in the next few days. It will be difficult. We are in a drought and this is our dry season as well. As a result, the predominate color here is brown.
It is interesting to note that we have a lot raptors at this time, due to their yearly migration.

Timbo, I also think lights in the dark are beautiful. I would still like a bit more daylight tough. I think we began our english education in fourth or fifth grade, but it's been a long time since. Norway have always traded westwards to GB, Ireland and the US. Large parts of our population emigrated to Canada and the US between 1825-1925 so we have had much contact with english/US culture and language. I suppose that is why we so readily adapt much of your culture. Most movies and media made in the US or GB run here without dubbing, just norwegian subtexts, so the kids are exposed to english (both the US and the original variety) very early.
What is the view from an airline pilots office?

So send us a picture of your next colon resection.

I am sure Dougsnell (the guy that is getting a blade eventually some time this lifetime ) will be all over that image!

Lets see.... unless you want to see cath UA on octagenarians or depressed skull fractures, young carbon monoxide death that could have been prevented by a 5$ smoke alarm, I'll hold off on my view. Not nearly as nice as some of the others but I actually don't have any windows aside from one area with a small sliver of a view (which is oddly nice in itself). I do get to see new ED docs being "created" though... thats interesting but still not much to look at from an aesthetic point of view.

Joanna, the place is called Transfagarasan, a scenic road in the Fagaras mountains in Romania, it gets better with some waterfalls and mountain top fortresses. That was supposed to be my vacation from work but I had to send files and work on drawings every day. You gotta love laptop PC's.

Rolf, we get some good views when the clouds below allow it! We flew over Bodo a few months back, but it was the middle of the night so all I could see was lights, no detail. I have seen some spectacular Norther Light shows however, but I never have a camera with me.
I'm asking the wife and kids to get me a digital camera for Christmas this year, if I get one, I'll have some pictures for you. Of course I would also like a dry suit and I know I won't get both...

Timbo, You should buy your wife or kids a digital camera as a Christmas gift, and receive your drysuit. That way you can borow the digital camera from time to time and keep everybody happy, including us staring at the pictures you'll send. But it might be tricky to get away with that...
