Back from the movies now. Dermot, you got a full frontal shot, not too many lines but a good close up driving the rib! I waited after for all the credits to see if they mentioned you by name but I didn't see it go by.
Nice shots of the lake and the beautiful Blessington country side too. Now my wife wants to go and see it for herself. For all you cat sailors, you will not see any cats, they didn't shoot towards the club at all, they only showed the other shore and the rolling hills behind the lake, but it was very pretty.

On a nautical theme. The ship in the background only ever travels from Australia to Wales and back delivering Iron ore for the Steel works at Port Talbot. It normally takes 51 days to get here of which 3 are required to attain a cruising speed of 18knots. (useless information I know)
Hey could be a cheap way of getting boats to Global Challenge, do you think they would give us a tow

Usually companies running terminals like that are very keen on getting good relations with their neighbours. Having a talk with their HR manager might give surprising results.
I know I am going to check wether our company have any shipments scheduled for GB ports during summer. Would be a great way of getting the boats over and back again, and if there is room, perhaps ourself as well. OMG, we are not off-topic anymore.

Robin Knox Johnston was the Skipper then. After that she was bought by a Dutch sailor Henk de Velde. I think that she is used for day sails in the Caribean now.

Her is the view from our front porch this morning. Not much snow just now, but it is blowing gale force winds in the sound. Not a windsurfer in sight

Here's a photo of the Surf at Oxwich Bay taken last week. I hope a group of us will sail to Oxwich for lunch after the Global Challenge. With a fair breeze it will only take about 1.25hrs but it shouldn't be missed.

Sorry about the SIZE. Could someone please explain how you decrease the image so as not to p**s people off. Rolf the photo was taken with a Kodak Z710 nothing special 10x optical zoom 3xdigital,7.1mp but it has a large lens so a lot of detail can be downloaded if you see what I mean.

Not exactly the view from the office but I hope you'll find this...refreshing !?
Ok this one is for all the sailors that are really sick of the hot sun, and just want to cool off a bit. It really sucks when it is so hot outside that the beer is evaporating faster than you can drink it.
Hey but what could be more pleasing then having a lot of ice at hand for your cold drink ?

January and February are ideal gardening months here. The gardening centers are starting to get new plants i.e. spathiphyllum and lavender.
After I bought the Blade, my gardening duties got short shrift. Bad move! But, some progress is being made so tranquility has returned to my kingdom.
Moral: when your wife tells you to buy a new boat, don't ignore the garden.
btw- what kind of camera are you folks using? My Sony Mavica is not up to the task, but it is as good as the guy pointing it.

Pete, you could use some colour in there... This pic is actually view from the "office". It is a very small garden and terrace layout I designed for a client about 3 years ago. I also took part in building it.
