After traveling from Seattle to Madison Wisconsin this summer, the worst roads by far were in Minnosota. Literally was shaking the camper apart.

Karl do you have something to do with that, LOL.

Any thing special to do to minimize trailering damage, other than slow down, that helps?

Oh ya this is one of those winter questions when there isn't any thing else to do but clean out the basement.

Drove from Jacksonville to Long Beach - most of I-10 sucks. Was so bad that I had to pick up a new mast stand in Texas - I had an admittedly bad design and the mast stand was aluminum, but still... crappy road.

Long stretches of I-10 are constructed with concrete, so the expansion joints become topographic features after a while. Have to choose your speed as to not cause a harmonic. In the RV, it was like riding an earthquake.

Until recently Arkansas Interstates were the worst, according to truckers. Seems like the then President could get some funds their way. Now they are being re-paved. So I-10 from Texas east gets my vote, as John has indicated. If the speed is good for the vehicle it is wrong for the trailer. As soon as a good speed is found, the distance between concrete sections changes. Louisiana adds lots of big missing chunks in the right lane. Of course, folks around NYC would find much worse on the holes-in-the-road situatrion.

the road south of san felipe, mexico to bahia de gonzaga by far the worst I've trailered on 80% dirt, ruts narrow, so rough the vibrations fatiged the fender mounts and the fenders fell off. bahia de gonzaga, the most beautiful and full of marine life i've ever seen. 100% worth it. about 120 km past san felipe. stay at alfonsina's. for the timid you can get there from the south much easier but about 200 miles further. http://www.bajaexpo.com/cities/gonzaga.htm

With our ultra high taxs we like to spend our money on socialist programs and not our really horrible roads.

I agree they suck.

Who cares about the waste of 'socialist programs' that's nothing. What about a multi-trillion dollar unprovoked war that is currently screwing our dollar, killing our brave soldiers, and increasing our debt, while simultaneously making us more and more hated around the world?

That money could fix some roads!

Ya it really sucks to have a socialized fire department and police department. I would rather pay by credit card when the fire department shows up..that way my taxes would be lower..

Fire departments, public works, police, aren't social programs. Minnesota is (I think) third or fourth in the country for taxes.

When was the last time some useless civil servants like the Police prevented a crime? Where were they when some one broke into your home or vehicle? Where were they when some white trash teenager left her bastard baby in a dumpster? Oh.... They were wasting thier time and yours by giving a seatbelt ticket? Interesting.....

I'm boatless.

I, too, agree the worst road ever is I-10. Had a boat break in half from bouncing around so much and lost parts off my RV. As bad as it is east of Texas, Louisiana takes it one step farther.

I'll attest to the Arkansas highways being very nice now, even 65 through the heart of the Ozark Mountains is an excellent road with passing lanes.

The worst roads to drive on? The ones under construction repair and where aren't those?

I didn't say they were social programs, I said that they were _socialized_ programs. By "socialized" I mean run by the government and paid for by the taxpayers as opposed to a private system where the end user pays a company to provide the service.

Hey! I resemble that statement!!! I just thought all roads were like that. And of course my town is hinged on I-10. One good note is that they are starting to pave over some of it and that helps some.

Mussolini's tank road through the central part of what use to be Yogoslavia. It's gigantic cement slabs that rock back and forth as vehicles pass over them.
