Hey all. Sorry this is OT. I need a letter translated from German to English. To make a long story short I am adopted and found my mother in 2002. She is German and neither writes nor speaks English. I cannot write or speak German. My letters to her are in English with a "Freetranslation.com" translation. Her letters to me were translated by someone that is no longer able to do so. She asked to send the letters without translation and I said OK. I tried to type the letter into the freetranslation website, but it was inadequate. I am unable to get a translation I can fully understand. Maybe some words were misspelled. At any rate, if anyone can translate for me, I will email a scanned pdf image of the letter. Thanks a bunch!

Walter

WOW! I read that thread and decided to take the passive reader stance! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

I can translate for you. But please forgive when I say that I don't want to do that on a regular basis; it is alot of work especially from English to German. The German grammar is quite complicated and I'm out of practice. Their grammer and way of composing a sentence is significantly different from both English and Dutch. This is probably why translating sites have such difficulty. Translating from German to English is alot easier for me as I'm quite fluent in English and you don't need to figure out the German grammer to understand what they are saying.

So, I think I propose to help you out for now and give you some time to find another person that can translated the letter regulary for you.
