Hi,
my club (
www.dee-sc.co.uk) has decided to run a singlehander event on 20 April. Originally aimed at monohullists, they've agreed to run a catamaran singlehander as well. Entry fees and prizes are nominal, and the idea to is take part really. It is an early start (9:00) due to the tides, so is likely to appeal to those of you in the Midlands. Having said that, you can rig and store your boats at the club on the day beforehand, and we'll be finished by 13:00 (tides again), so you'll have a sensible journey home.
Why would you bother? Well, if you live close enough to be interested, this is likely to be a good opportunity to get out in the salty stuff, and tackle proper waves and tides too! We sail in an estuary, so it is relatively sheltered.
If you are interested, please reply here, or email me at simon dot stannard at lineone dot net.
Thanks
