I can't belive no one has said this...

DO NOT DRIVE 2.1 MILES WITH YOUR MAST UP!!!! THAT IS CRAZY.....

WHat if you have to make a sudden stop?
what if you get in an accident?
That is not a good idea.

I sail every weekend and hate raising and lowering my 30' 600ton mast, but it is the price i pay to play. I used to use a E-Zmast system on my TheMightyHobie18 but i just rough it with my mystere 5.5 mast. I do trailer it transom facing the car so the mast is at a good angle when i step it.

I just checked google maps to get the distance, but couldn't come up with an address of the "beach". Looks like it's about 3.5 miles from the mast up storage lot to the beach and every one trailers their catamarans down there and have for the last 30 years or so. Fleet 149 Lake Perry, KS

Important to know there are no trees or overhead lines, go slow and don't forget the tie down straps on the way back.

Make yourself a floating beach. Build a sloped platform 18' long with the last 2 feet in the water. Cover it with artificial grass, then place it in one of the available slips.

Do not store a beach cat in the water...unless you're willing to do the keelboat (read "slow") boat-job anti-foul thing.

[Linked Image]
That's how I stored my cat during a week in the beach. As you can see, no way to take it out with the mast on. I cannot launch it direct into the water, because of the sand, so doing it every day is not very fun (I should get some beach wheels...).
But the hulls are definitely not as white as before now. Is this anti-fouling thing hard or expensive to do?

By the wat, it's worth to share that the line was cutted once, I used to attach it to the bridle shackle, but on a not so calm day, the constant interaction with the bridle wire terminals ended up cutting it. Now I put a separate shakle or carabiner just to attach the line, and make a second know, just in case.

not worth it unless your gonna leave it in the water more than 2 weeks.... otherwise just wash it off the Mr Clean magic eraser works great on dirty boats.... otherwise if you do bottom coat it make sure you use "ablated paint" regular bottom paint will dry up if not submerged in water constantly.... ablated "sheds" over time and doesn't dry up.

Applying antifouling is not very hard to do, check this document: http://www.boatspeed.eu/downloads/Painting-a-regatta-boat-hull.pdf
You might even get away with not applying an epoxy primer.
IIRC the cheap stuff is a little heavier due to copper content.
The "good" stuff (Like this, Nautix A4 is specifically designed for racing and will probably not hurt your performance in any way.
