When your boat isn't in use, where do you store it during the season?

Currently mine is sitting in a relatives driveway and is about an hour and a half from water. (meaning I have to drive 30 minutes south to get the boat and 60 minutes north to water). Personally I would like it closer to water, so I can sail after work.

One of the near by lakes has "on the water" storage for $250/season + club membership and I can leave it floating in a dock slip or on a lift in a slip.....I don't see any cleats on the hobie, so I doubt mooring it mast up is a good idea....maybe for a pot bellied mono hull daysailer. And I'm not going to buy a boat lift that costs more than the boat.

Or there is a farmer that rents spaces in a gravel lot for $35/mo. He's about 2 miles from the water. No power lines between the lot and the water, so I could probably tow it mast up if I'm careful.

I just know that the office is 30 minutes south of water and the boat is 30 minutes south of the office and I'd rather mash the pedal to the floor and sail after work.
