It would be nice if somebody can find the results and write a little story about the regatta so we can put it, and pictures, in the next issue of Catamaran Sailor.
I have already talked to Travis about getting pictures, but we need a STORY to go with them.

Hello all. Yes, Matt and I pitchpoled many times (4), because my skipper always pushes it. The flip on the finish line occured after the finish and only because I couldn't get the spin down (tangled around the spin pole). Yes, we only weigh 270 lbs. combined crew weight, but we are both very competitive and we both would've done almost anything to win that day and I think we proved that. With more time on the boat,no children/no home and no other work responsibilities, we just might've been able to pull it off. We'll never know. So weekend warriors we have become and hope to be for a long, long time to come. Unfortunately, the older the kids get, the more demands and the less time I'm sure we'll have. Damn!!! Robbie and Matt L. sailed very well and we had a great time trying to catch them. Another excellent date! God, I love my marriage!

Gina-It's a short list of people who can beat Robbie D. and they mostly live in Europe and Australia.

How bout next year we call it the midwinters and have three days of racing? If we declare it early then it is easier for people to plan their trip. Just thinkin..... Ed

Well, I hate to specify a word count and stifle your unbridled creativity, but 500 words should be able to cover all the basics, and beyond that feel free to be, as far as embellishing with humor and terror and human interest stuff.

Would you be writing about just the F16's, or including the A-Class?

It would be nice to have it very soon so we can start putting it together with the pictures for the April-May issue. Two weeks max. Write while it is still fresh in your mind.

Thanks.
P.S. I'm sure the results are SOMEWHERE.

"P.S. I'm sure the results are SOMEWHERE."

I don't know about that......they were two pieces of paper with the races penciled in. And they wouldn't stay taped to the chalk board. Could still be blowing around Gulfport.

We could probably sell that, if we started really early!

If other people like the idea, I'd suggest one of you "visitors" start a new thread petitioning the board at GYC to that effect.

I nominate Joanna.

IF the board goes along, I'm sure attendance at the bonfire will be manadatory for ALL participants.

Mary, the RC had a little hiccup with scheduling personnel for Sunday. My guess is that is the last time that will happen as there is a certain amount of "drama" attached to the matter.

Gee thanks for the nomination, but why me??? Who is on the board of GYC that we would have to talk too? Why do you think a "visitor" would have more pull than a member?

You should initiate it because they are tired of hearing from me! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Seriously, I don't know that visitors have more pull, but your planning is more complicated. So, the first order of business is to determine how many can and will participate. A three day event complicates scoring somewhat and is a greater strain on organization. An immediate concern will be competition with Spring Fever. No one wants that.

I can't speak for the board, but generally they're receptive to anything that's good for the club. If a three day event is desirable, they would probably get behind it if the attendance warrants it.

Spring Fever next year should be April 10-13.
