Poseidon is said to rule the seas, but what about small fresh water lakes, like we have here in Minnesota. I'll forfeit that he controls Lake Superior, but what about all the smaller lakes and frog ponds?

Poseidon, who won the right to rule the seas, was also the god of horses and of earthquakes. Poseidon's domain actually extended beyond the oceans to include freshwater rivers, even though the river gods were the sons of Oceanus and Tethys.

Kohl, You are so hip! Isn't "Neptune" the Roman's name for Poseidon? My thoracic surgeon's name is Neptune, and my sailing adventures greatly increased after surgery...

Well, Lake Erie is ruled by LEM (Lake Erie Monster), more affectionately known as South Bay Bessie. Sightings go back into the 1800's. See attachment.
You mean that is not a real picture? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> How did it get on the cover of a newspaper?
Beware when you ply the waters of Lake Erie. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Who knows what Poseidon really looks like? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

that's what you get for hitting lovable little LEM over the head with your lead keel. It'd p1ss me off too if I were her... Mind you, better watch out with those sharp daggerboards too. Better switch to centerboards...
