It's killing me not to be there!!! I couldn't justify the $600+ in gas round trip.
So whats up with day 1 results?
I am really interested to see how my buddy Francesco did in his F18 debut.
How about the 20 class? Looks like the top few should be very close.

I know Mr. Ernie is usually quick to get the results posted but can someone post a quick summary?

sorry for the lack of updates - it was a great weekend! Plenty of wind on Friday and Saturday and for the first race on Sunday. I believe we got in 8 races. Not much time to post right now - more later.

Francesco finished 4th sailing on a Cap.

1 - Alex and Nigel
2 - Mike Krantz and Dave Lennard
3 - John Casey and John Williams
4 - Francesco

I had to leave so I don't have anything beyond that.

The sailing was great. We started the racing off with the traditional first race drifter. Race 2 filled in nicely and that was it for Friday.

We sailed 5 solid races on Saturday, nice breeze but you REALLY needed to put yourself in the right place at the right time. The folks that did this more often than not stayed on top, as for the rest of us... not so much.

Sunday was FREAKING COLD! Sailed one race in a fading double trapped breeze. They started us on a second race, but it was tossed due to lack wind (Thank gawd!)

Had a great time again!!!! Well worth the $600 in gas money!

David.. After the awards, Loyd noticed that you had a 6.5 score in your first race. Looked odd so we had them recheck the finishes since we were in the mix with you and Francesco. You adding a 1 to your sailnumber tripped them up. As it turns out you edged out Francesco for 4th. So top 6 were:

1 - Alex and Nigel
2 - Mike Krantz and Dave Lennard
3 - John Casey and John Williams
4- David Ingram and Kathy
5 - Francisco Figueroa and Gustavo Pinto
6- Mark Williams and Loyd Graves

It was a great weekend.. As Always. Thanks Nigel, Mr Ernie and all the SF land crew.

Get turnout.. lots of boats from Canada, OH, IN, and FL. Francesco from Puerto Rico and John W flew in from California .

That my friend is the definition of good karma.

Okay I have to have a little Wouter moment here. It needs to pointed out that the top 4 (my list) finishers are either going to the Alter Cup or have qualified for the Alter Cup. It was good tough racing out there last weekend, and I have the sore muscles and bruises to prove it. But what I want to know is... if I'm NOT doing the heaving lifting why am I sore and bruised? That just aint right!

Same here. I drove most of the weekend and ended up with bruises on my arms. I guess it was my crewing whipping me into shape...

You're pinching - smack!
Your footing - smack!
Nice mark rounding - smack!

Yeah, well, I too complained of being tired of Saturday but was quickly questioned as to why since I didn't do any of the string pulling. I replied that all of that brainpower needed to get around the course fast required a lot of calories.

With me, it was the extra unloading my boat to get it weighed with the mast down, then loading it back to step the mast. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

And in the Nacra 20 fleet

1- Kurt Korte (who came in blazing on Saturday)
2- Wick Smith
3- Trey Brown
4- Jake Kohl
5- some goofball
6- another goofball

I didn't even realize Kurt was on the course on Saturday...in the first Sat race, we were so focused on racing the other I20s that we had been racing the day before, we didn't realize Kurt was even out there. We saw him far ahead while we were making the last A mark rounding in the first race while holding a very narrow lead over the rest of the 20's. After finishing, I couldn't believe they had sailed both laps!

GOOFBALL???
I'm not sure I heard you , you were kinda muffled with your head down so low and sweatpants in your face.
It was great seeing everybody, this goofball had a blast.Good people, good times. Just need more rum, Nigel.
Todd
p.s. There was even another goofball in 7th. Lotta goofballs named and un-named in the 20 fleet.I'd say from third on down.

Ummm...Jake, wasn't that your blue 20 parked within 24 inches of Kurt's 20 on the beach Friday night? We had a good laugh when you asked us if we had gone around twice though...

T'was a pleasure racing with ya.

Yeah - I knew you guys were there, I just never saw you on the line for the first race and assumed you were late! You guys were on freakin fire! Congratulations on the win.
