Hey

I just bought a Hydra. I've been told their made by nacra but i dont really care. My question is can you put twin trap on a standard hydra. I've put a square top rig and a custom made jib. Im carying about 130kg for me and my crew and i CAN NOT keep it flat but i want it to go faster. Will the mast hold a twin trap or should i just change the mast??? Any help is Much appreicated!! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Mast will snap. Change it and keep the original sail and rig for resale.

The Mosquito uses a similar (Hydra mast is slightly stiffer) mast section and they double trap when sloop.

I can't remember what mast step the Hydra has, most of the mossie has is a small pin sitting in a small cup on the main beam. The Hydra would possibly be stronger in this area. The main thing about double trapping is to be careful about how much mast rotation. (don't over rotate) I hope this helps.
