Anyone have a solution other than the factory stop? Now that PC went to the smaller style I get less than one season before they split.

Roller skate toe stops?

use a piece of line with knots on the end.

When you lower your boards, try to act like you aren't pissed off and shove them through the bottom of the boat. I have never changed mine and I have an 01.

On the I20, it's not a big deal because the rubber snubber thing is right below the handle boss on the board. As it hits the well, the rubber is captured between the well and the handle. On the F18, they're sticking out off the board all by themselves with no protrusion above them and they simply shear off. I went through about four of them before I finally tied a 1/4" line through the hole.

I'm with Lee on this one. Usually crew only needs to here a "DUDE? or Easy Killer" to get it.

Crew, on a Uni? PC changed the stop last year to a much smaller version. The previous style lasted for many years. And yes, seldom pissed off and always gently coax my dagger boards down.

Just kidding about the pissed off thing. Just suggesting less aggression in lowering the boards. In distance racing I teather my boards to the shrouds. The teathers also can be adjusted to hold the boards at a certain level during rough seas. You can set them where they will come tight when the boards are almost down. I see Jakes point about the N20 and the handles. The only F18 exp I have is the Tiger or Infusion which both have a nice rope through them.

5.5 Uni...sounds like the board stoppers are similar to the F18's.

Will probably give the roller skate toe stops a shot this season to see how they work out.

Thanks, Tom G

Oh, you've got those big rubber door stop bumpers (those are completely different than the "Inter" series board stops). I recall having issues with those on my 6.0 ... but I did the same solution...tied a line through the hole.

Yup, those big ol' rubber door stop bumpers were replaced with wimpy little rubber nubs that shear off way to easily. Well, ropes or roller skates, one should work.

Thanks guys, TG
