Over the years I have seen a few short, well diagramed, and to the point books on sailing for the beginner. I believe strongly in the KISS system , so if you know of a publication I can buy for people that have, for the most part, never sailed, that I can use in my attempt to teach basics here, We would appriciate your help. At present, we have six students ready to start. BTW,this "Sailing Basics" program is being offered at NO COST.Our goal is to bring the joy and art of sailing to as many West Virginians as possible. We will be supplying the reading materials,In some cases, even swiming lessions, the boats (six cats and one small mono I transported here from the west coast) and on the water instruction. Our needs are many and my cash supply, along with my wifes patience, is getting short. Dispite this, I am determined to make this work. Thanks in advance for your replies.

"Catamaran Racing for the 90's" is GREAT for newbie or racer alike as it will teach theory and the basic both. The more when you are ready. I would also recommend getting the Rick White Seminar CD. I have been sailing for 29 years and still learned from them.

This is not so much for a brand new sailor but good for someone new to catamaran sailing -
