Olli and Kelly splashed their Capricorn one full day before I did... in fact, I sailed with Robbie on Olli's Cap that weekend as we did some tuning against the Tiger that the Jason's had been sailing for some time. Then we switched boats.

Brandon Wallace is sailing with Damon LaCassella - Damon got an Infusion recently and the two of them have been going very fast in SoCal and they lead the NAF-18 class in points so far this year.

Alex and Nigel have been a very close second place at multiple Alter Cups... you have to like their chances as they return again on an F18.

I think some folks are going to be surprised by how fast Mike and Dave (Team Zhik) are going this year. They really put together a program and have been training hard - they're even coming in late just to get one more regatta in before the Championship.

Figueroa/Pinto got to play with a Cap at Spring Fever last month - there was a marked difference between their boatspeed on the first and last day of the event.

Kirk and Glenn - last minute entries but far from unfamiliar with the pressure of Alter Cup competition. Kirk's name is already on the trophy - I think he's in the mood to "re-establish the pecking order."

John and Giselle have been sailing F18 for a looooooong time. John led the Tiger fleet in points last year to earn his chance to represent the class.

Put two A-cat skippers on the boat, especially father and son, and you have to ask who's calling the shots. Marshack/Marshack or Marshack/Marshack - they'll be going fast.

I could keep going... <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Somebody's got to start the smack talk. I'll just pick on the easy teams... Feel free to join in.

1. Brent Carlson Jennifer Carlson - Brent is going to make some comment about a slow spinnaker set, and will be handicapped by his black eye for the rest of the week.

2. John Tomko Ian Billings - John and Ian are going through withdrawal all week because they can't find a good Tex-Mex restaurant

4. bill gillespie colin page - Bill is distracted by having a crew member on board, so he chucks Colin off at the start, but this may help another team (see #6)

5. Brandon Wallace - Dude, where's my boat?

6. Lynn Olson Joanna Lienti - This team is so light, they'll need to find a 3rd crew member to make weight

7. John Bauldry Giselle Vaziri - It turns out John is really Mr Clean, and gets chucked on a Rule 69 violation by US Sailing

9. John Casey John Williams - J-dub going to sabotage their chances because of the rumors that he'll lose the squirrel top if they win

11. Matt McDonald Seth Stern - Matt sailing without Gina is just bad karma

14. Olli Jason Kelly Jason - Olli is detained by the authorities and accused of spousal abuse because of the Kelli's bruises

15. Nigel Pitt Alex Shafer - Nigel is deported after hitting an INS roadblock, it turns out he's a welsh illegal alien

17. Francisco Figueroa Gustavo Pinto - Sailing venue is too far north for these guys, they'll freeze to death in their speedos

18. David Ingram - I hear dingo lost some parts, he may still be in recovery

19. H. E. Kirk Newkirk Glenn Holmes - Since Glen retired from the Air force, he's gone soft and turned into a cupcake crew

20. Tripp Burd Andrew Watters - Due to Spring Break infractions, they've been ordered not to leave campus

21. Mike Krantz's "Margaritaville" drink maker will break down (along with David Lennard's RV), and he'll leave the regatta and drive to GA to steal Nigel's "Margaritaville" drink maker. A Key Sailing style "rumble" will ensue...

Team No. 3 will be late to every start because of time spent between races transfering the Layline High Performance Decal Package from one boat to the Next.

We've got that covered. We've found that full body tattoo's are lighter and faster than decals.

Oh, this is getting good. Don't count out John and Ian if they can't find a good Tex-Mex place, they have found a way to cleans those urges with Rum....like any good sailer would. After giving this some thought, I'm going with John and Ian or JC and JW. And JW, I would have been coming down to watch all this first hand, but I have to go to St.Thomas on business. DAM!

I'd say something snarky about the Marshacks, being from the same town, but I don't know them well enough. Good luck, however (I know Ken reads these boards)! How were the qualifiers at Skamokawa? The Hobie regatta the week before was horrendous - no wind, rain, and bitterly cold for August - got sick and left Sat night.

Don't think I've ever met but Ken and wife were on an episode of Oregon Field Guide that recently got replayed .

St. Thomas? No sympathy. In fact, JC has decided that the number of forms he has to fill out is too much of a PITA. Can I come with you? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

C'mon John, you'll have more fun with us anyway. I'm delivering an Alden 72 from St. Thomas to South Carolina. Should be a nice ride up the Tradewinds. We may stop at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas to let some of the investors see the boat there. Looking like I may be doing the Tybee again. I'll know for sure when I get back on the 28th. Are you going to be there again?

Mike Krantz and Dave Lennard get so ZHIK'd out they can't find the start line. As it turns out, the lines on the boat aren't color coordinated enough and Lennard has a mental meltdown.

(I even got a plug in)
