Hi, having recently returned from a ski trip in which my enjoyment was enhanced significantly by my ipod, does anyone here have experience with any waterproof mp3 players? Good ones, bad ones, anything?
It's my birthday next week.

Thanks,
Al

I have an otterbox for my shuffle, and it works great.

I have worn ipods before durring sailing and find them very distracting... and god forbid I don’t hear a powerboat barreling down on me (while he is hidden behind my main)....

I now carry a $12 Walgreen’s am/fm radio in a dry bag on my tramp... even then I don’t keep it to loud and often turn it off as I love the sound of the water rushing under my hulls...

Don't you despise people who screw up a tidy thread?

The local Walgreen's sign developed a flickering W which my wife and I enjoyed when passing by...

"there's wah-wah, wah-wah, wah-wah Walgreen's"

Recently the W has completely burned out so now it's...

"there's Al Green's" <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yeah, even with rainbow colored sails the power boaters don't see us. I feel bad for the guys that have blue sails.

Ryan - H16 I prefer to go sailing because baseball, football, tennis, and golf only require 1 ball!

Now i HIGHLY recommend the good Rev. Al Green! If you can get him on your cat... Have him sing!

The otterbox looks pretty good, although I've been unable to find a store in Canada that sells them (yet).
Funny thing about the ski trip; the ipod survived a massive face plant/yard sale on day one, and worked great all weekend until I dropped it into my rye & coke on the bus ride home. Waterproofing might come in handy for times other than sailing!

I've doused my shuffle a couple of times crashing, and it survived. One that went thru the washer didn't. Otterbox is probably to be reccomended.
