Here is the final information about launching for the Key Largo Steeplechase:

Rick's Place can handle about 25 boats, and, of course, the people who are staying here get priority. For those who are not staying here, we are charging a flat $20 per boat for launching and trailer storage, whether you arrive on Wednesday or on Saturday morning.

Caribbean Club/Island Style Watersports is off limits to catamarans right now.

Gilbert's Motel over by the Jewfish Creek Bridge does not want any boats and trailers there this weekend because they have a big wedding going on there Saturday.

Rowell's Marina is the best place to launch and can handle an infinite number of boats. They charge $7 a day for each day your boat and trailer are there. Pay for your whole time when you arrive -- stop at the office, and they will assign you a place to put your boat/trailer. They have one ramp, so be prepared to start launching early so everybody can get in the water on time. Of course, the situation is not much better at Rick's Place, because you still can only launch one at a time here.
At Rowell's you have to comply with their hours -- they open the gate at 7:30 a.m. and lock it again at 5:00 p.m., so plan accordingly.

Any questions, call Mary or Rick at 305-451-3287.

P.S. Please be very nice to the people at Rowell's. They do not normally want sailboats there, especially overnight, but they have agreed to allow it for the regattas. We want them to like us, so don't argue with them about prices or anything. We tried to get them to allow us to launch at the south side of the property where there is a rocky beach, but they absolutely will not let us do that, so do not even bring it up.
Thanks for your cooperation.
