Very cool. I loved it. But it looks very cold there.

Gill and Kathleen,

Great movie.

I know that the voices in my head aint real,
but they have some pretty good ideas.
There is no such thing as a quick fix and I've never had free lunch!

Gilo, that was great seeing you two out there! And I really liked the ending where Kathleen goes out on the wire with the spinnaker sheet and you dumped her in the water! You Dog! Kathleen, the next time he does that to you, on your way onto the tramp, you can -accidently- kick him in the head! I still remember the bruise he put on you at Gulfport!!

Great video Gill & Kathleen, you can tell who does all the work!!
Gill appears to be a mainsheet cleater or cheater take your pick
See you next week
Mark

Thanks all for the positive feedback!

Mary, the cold was ok because the sun was out most of the time. Water was still cold (8°C) tough.

Marcus and Tim, this time I didn't get that many bruises luckily. I did hurt my knee (I slammed it into the daggerboard) but not too bad. I am just too sensitive for the bruises.

See you next week Mark!

And Robi I would love to sail in Florida. I hope to get back some day for a next holiday.

Gill, I bet you are like me and just do not want your biceps to get to big holding the mainsheet and pumping the main to much. Makes it hard to get t shirts to fit right.
Great video.
What is the line coming off the left front crossbar and going right over the camera?

Great movie!

We will also see you at Carnac - except that Paul will be sailing alone since I cannot take time off work. I'll be there on Saturday. I'll then be cheering F16s on from the beach!

Jody,

The white line in front going to the beam is the jib sheet.
The white line on the tramp is to kick-up the daggerboards.
And the sheets me and Kathleen are holding are the main and traveller... Does it answer your question?

Hi Ann,

I'm looking forward seeing you guys again!
We tried to immitate you and Paul at the end but we didn't managed to go all the way ;-)

I'll be meeting some 104 people also in Carnac so I think it will be quite an interesting weekend!

Regards,
Gill

Gill - Mark will probably try to convince you that Beer (as opposed to Iced Tea) will help with mainsheet control.....

Couple of quick tips to help:

When sailing downwind and the crew comes in off the wire, before the crew comes in the skipper grabs the spi sheet in their free hand before they come in. Means the kite still flies and you have speed going into the gybe (very important and helps steering). Same thing when the crew looses footing on the trapeze. Whilst they are getting sorted again you can grab the kite sheet and keep the boat going.

Also change the angle of mainsheet cleat so it can't be cleated when going upwind! Yes it is hard to hold, but heaps faster and you are more reactive to the gusts. In bigger winds the crew can work the main. Trust me on this.

Crew should be taking the downhaul out with them on trapeze when both of you are on the wire. Start trimming the sails together.

And where are the palm trees? Looks too cold!
