It's been so long since I've posted, that I've nearly forgotten how! Funny....

Anyway, it's time outfit my Hobie 20 with new lines. She's been neglected for too long in that department. I need main and jib sheet lines. I used to always buy yale light (the old world kind) which was great when it was brand new, but perhaps there's something better out there???

Any new developments out there?

Thanks!

Sail fast!

Tim

You should have a look at Swiftcord, its great for sheets (main, jib, spi) and control lines (cunningham) and its very easy to taper.

Maffioli, Marlow, alpha....all 3 very widely used and would come recommended by some put down by others.

Best advice find something you and your crew like and stick to it.

For what its worth I use Marlow and Maffioli

Robline racing sheet. Better than maff.

Splice it down to 12-strand for mainsheet.

samson ultralight is pretty good but I would go bzzz/apex salsa for spin sheets. Swiftcord is awesome but expensive IMO

Trophy braid by Regatta. Strip out the core and replace with spectra. Great hand, low stretch, good cover abraision resistance and it gets nice and heavy when wet - which stops it being washed off the boat.

Chris.
