Blade guys/gals,

What mast rake are you using on your Blades and how much do you weigh? We are 180 lb single-handed/330 lb double-handed and usually have about 8 kts of wind. Right now, we are somewhere between the inspection port and the transom.

Our mast rake measurement technique: touch trap wire to bridle wire attachment point, put finger on that point, and then walk it back to the stern. Measure how far that point is forward/aft of the transom at deck level.

No clue. I use a dyneema line to secure the forestay to the bridle. In light air the distance between bridle and stay is one finger breadth, in heavy air two.

2006 VWM Blade:
I am past the rear deck, about 1 inch below the top of the deck. Maybe a little more forward as it lightens up. Oley/Joanna and Jody were in a similar location, the last time we compared. I usually sail singlehanded with 160 pounds + gear. Probably would move that forward if 2-up.

A little goes a long way....

My rake is the same as Tshan, although I have to say that this is as far forward as my forestay length will let me.

about the same here too. A little adjustment here and there with the pigtail that ties the forestay to the bridle. closer if I think i am going to do more 2-up stuff.
