Is anyone interested in a traveler series around the bay, sailing at one club on a Saturday and a nearby club on Sunday. Eg sail at Safety Beach or Somers Saturday and Rosebud or Balnarring on Sunday.

If there is enough intrest we could probably a do one event every 5 weeks during the summer season.

It would help get moore intrest in the class if we could travell around to more bay clubs with 5 or more boats to show off the class. It would also give people who sail at a club without water an excuse to go for a drive and sail.

Any coments for or aginst would be good, show you have an opinion.

Hi Rob,

Sounds like a plan!

I could suggest one leg... a McCrae/Rosebud weekend.

If you picked an aggregate weekend at McCrae you'd get 2 short courses on the Sat. afternoon (2.30) and could sail around the pier for 2 races at Rosebud on the Sun. I think they have 11.30 and 1.30 or there abouts.

The travellers would have time to travel on Sat morning and would only have to get the mast up once etc... and could stay in one spot and get 2 clubs.

There's an opinion and a thought for you. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

G'day Rob,

A traveller series sounds good but I'd need to know dates well in advance to organise my time.

The one proposed prior to last season was heavily concentrated around the south of the state/bay. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I don't mind going to the south of the bay sometimes but not ALL the time.

What did you have in mind for accommodation? Accommodation might be why the northern bay clubs are not popular as traveller clubs. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

The plan if there is enough interest, is to include clubs on the west side of the bay like Portarlington and Torquay.

But as you said most of the clubs that have camping near by are around the south of the state/bay.

I have asked several of bay clubs for dates on upcoming season but havn't recived back to much information yet, but some clubs have been quick to respond and would love to have as Rosbud, Parkdale, Chelsea, Mt Matha and Rye.

Any feed back on camping sites for northen or western clubs would be good.
