I have a 83 and with the exception of the hulls getting soft the boat is mint. Where and for how much??

I would think that getting a used Prindle 16 in great(ie.perfect) shape would be quite a bit cheaper than buying hulls for an old boat.

I doubt you can even buy the hulls new - like Dan said, you're probably better off purchasing a second boat for the hulls...and then you have two of everything.

though someone mentioned that performance catamarans will make you up an old nacra 18square if you pay them well enough for it

as performance are now also the owners of prindle they may make up hulls to special order if they have the moulds

BUT, it's hard to imagine they would be less than $1000 a hull and for that you could buy another boat...

There is a dealer in Burbank, CA. (I don't recall the name).... he has a new, unused (never sold) P-16. It is in his showroom.... hanging in view of the window. It is complete, new... and probably very expensive...

anyone know how the rudders for the 16 lock in the down position?

it doesnt show the locking mecahanism, and I dont have the boat, just trying to understand it for someone else. Any help or pix of any upgrades or solutions would be helpful

In regard to P16 hulls, I have spoken to Customer Service of Prindle, at Performance Cat, was told that practically every part for a P16 is available from them (through their dealers), except for the hulls.

Hey Dave, There are two lines, one holds the rudder up and the other pulls it down, there is a bolt that locks under a pin attached to springs, I will try to remember to get a pic this weekend.
