Posts: 11 Sayville,LI,NY | Hi to all. I have recently purchased a 1982 17' Boston Whaler Supercat in good condition. This is my first cat at 48 yrs. old.I am a lifelong boater and have sailed 420s to flying dutchman. We have owned whalers and makos as well.I have wet sanded, compounded and waxed the hulls back to life. I have repaired the rudder blades and re-gelcoated them. I had the tramp repaired. I refitted the trailer with padded bunk supports as I have read about on the boards here.I am almost ready to go. My son and I did a dry run setting the boat up on the front lawn. Stepping the mast will hopefully get easier with more practice. I have an owners manual for the boat, but there is on thing I am not clear on. This boat has a cable traveler and not a track type traveler. I was wondering if there are any Supercat 17 owners out there that could maybe email me a picture of how their mainsheet and cable traveler is done. It looks like we have all the right parts, but what we have doesn't jive with the manual.Any help woud be appreciated. We are itching to get on the water. We will be sailing out of Hecksher State Park on Long Island. Thanks. Mark . | | |
