A friend gave me a Mari Cat 4.3 platform on a registered trailer a while ago.

I donated the Mari to club that sails 4.3s and kept the trailer.

It needs a fair bit of modifying. Stage 1 starts today.

Cut off the bits that I won't need, take off everything else and get it ready for welding and painting.

Even though I have been shown, I still can't add a photo so it shows up on the post. Oh well.

I won't bore you with too many trailer up-dates. But here are all the parts taken off. They have been sanded back and primed. As will the the rest of the trailer.

I have bought the steel for the extensions. I will weld them on soon.

It's a nice change from fairing.

Any ideas on how you are going to sit the boat.....on the beams or the bottom of the hulls.?

Sit on the hulls, with rollers and pads. Nice and easy.

The trailer has been finished for a week or so now.

For the engineers out there, I know the wheels need moving back a little. Lucky that won't be too hard.

The sail box needs painting and fixing onto the trailer.

Rollers won't go until the boat is ready, looking at self locking options at the moment.

I painted it black, because I dont know what colour the boat will be yet. I plan to buy some roll on pin striping to colour cordinate.

One more job nearly done.
