Mark,

Waiting, just like you. I know the loft is very, very busy with their backlog. It will show up when it shows up!

You'll probably pass the Fed-Ex truck on the way off your street. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Hey Karl,

There is a great opportunity coming up for you with the Racine race on the CRAM schedule. I think you would benefit immensely by going to the race and hanging with the F17 crowd for the weekend. Is this a possibility for you? Just trying to help you enjoy your boat!

Mark,
What battens are you going to use in the new sail?

Its a possibility. I need some work, my sailing fund is starting to look like I need to raid the spare change jar to keep up the campaign. The trades are in the tank here in MN and businness is sloooowwww.

I'm doing two open regatta's for sure with the CRAW people. One will have a couple of F17's at it, the other is the Alter Cup qualifier and will probably have a couple as well.

Jeez, how do you write that you're poor and not sound like a whiner?

Karl,

I don't know if you have been following it but Racine is a F 17 Gold Cup event. What that means is prize money, if we get a minimum of 7 sailors on the water,we put the finishing positions in a hat and pull numbers. The first number pulled gets 25, the next gets 50 and the last gets 100. Think of it as gas money. The odds are pretty good you can come away with some cash. The F 17's from CRAM are coming, we need your support.

You have all winter to sit home, come to Racine. And while you're at it consider coming to the 2008 Nacra North Americans in Caseville, Michigan. We are launching right in front of the campsite. We should have between 20 and 30 F 17's. I am going to go out on a limb here and say we will probably have the biggest fleet that week.

2008 Nacra North Americans Event Co Chair

Sorry Karl, I was just informed you do not have a F 17. Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

I can't play in your sandbox then I take it? or, you have enough to make a fleet and will be running it OD?

No problem, kinda far anyway.

You are more than welcome to join our sandbox. I was just trying to get you to flesh out our F 17 fleet, my error.

Do you sail an FX One? I tried one at Key Sailing a few years ago on a windy day in November. I was terrible at it, spent more time concentrating on not flipping than I did on racing it. Nothing against the boat it was all me, rusty and dead set against swimming.

We would like to see more head to head racing here in CRAM with the other single handed boats, all we currently have on our starting lines are F 17's and Nacra Uni's. We haven't had a Hobie 17 race with us in a few years. Matt Bounds has one and comes on occasion, but he also has a Tiger and likes to be a PRO for big regattas so we don't see much of him single handing.

Fair winds.

Yep. Well if I do make it over there I'll race head to head with the F17 fleet. My PN is bit higher anyway.

We have several Open Regattas here in the Northwest. But unfortunately there are not any F17s out here to race against. We have aboout a dozen H17 and two FX Ones, but no one racing a F17.

The number of open events grows each year, it seems like it is a ripe area for the single handers to take off. Just need it to get started.

Any way I'm looking forward to racing something other than Tigers someday.
