Can anyone in the Houston area tell me the dates of the Houston Boat Show? I am also curious if any catamaran dealers will be present at this year's show.

I feel like a kid in a candy store when I go to a good boat show.

Happy New Year.

Bob,

In years past the Houston Boat Show was the first and second weeks in January. I haven't seen dates yet.. Maybe someone else has.

I'd also like to know if any cat dealers will be present, especially since the Houston Saiboat Center has closed and KO Sailing has assumed some of the business........

Regards,

Thanks Mike;

I found the website for the Houston Boat Show. It indicates that KO will have a booth. The site also indicates that Hobie will be represented but I did not see any other catamaran lines represented.

Cheers

bob

I thought I would give those who may be considering attending the Houston Boat show a quick review from today.

As usual, there were tons and tons of static displays of powerboats and large monohulls. Nothing quite like standing on a boat that costs way more than your house and having the salesperson ask you if you are interested in buying one. My daughter liked the 40-foot Hunter and wants me to buy one----yeah right.

Not much was there in the way of catamarans, however. Saw one Wave. Lynn Sailboats had a nice display of their WindRider Trimarans----my wife wants one of those. Other than that, you can get a cold beer for $6.00 after paying $7.00 to get in.

On another topic, I talked at length with the owners of C&C Sailmakers. I would like to ask if anyone has ever dealt with this group? Seems like a very knowledgeable group and I need to have some work done on my main and jib.

Take care
