The Entry deadline for the 2008 F18 Championship in Pensacola Beach, FL, is September 1st. Late entry goes up $100. All entries will get refunds of their fees (less $50 for non-refundable expenses) in the event the regatta is affected by tropical weather.

This is looking like a really good event. Participation from international F18 teams will be at an all-time high, so you can be assured that the racing will be tough. Get your entry in so that the host and sponsors can plan accordingly.

I'm new and a little confused. I joined some naf18 association because it said I had to do this to register for the regatta.

Now I can't figure out where to register. Can somebody help out with a link to page with registration details.

Also, have a couple questions.

As this seems to be a multi-day event, is it ok if I swap out crew? I have 3 kids, and would like to have 1 or 2 race each day with me.

I've never raced a cat before and this seems like a great way to learn a lot in a short period of time.

Thanks.

The NOR is posted at http://naf18.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/2008-naf18-nor-v4.pdf - the entry form is the last page. Paragraphs 3.6 and 3.7 explain how to send in your form.

If you plan to swap out crew, it isn't a problem as long as you let the Race Committee know ahead of time and the swap doesn't require you to change sail plans.

Pensacola Beach is a great place to sail, and you will definitely learn a lot at a championship - study up on the rules ahead of time because the mark roundings and start line can get very busy. Other sailors expect you will know who has right of way - if you don't react the way people expect you to, it could get hairy.

Come on Joe, sack up and do it old school!

Call Kirk when he get's back from PRW if you haven't already he might be able to hook you up. All the Infusion owners I know are going to be there.

Kirk only had one used Infusion for charter and people have been scrapping over it for months. I have no idea who won that fight. There just aren't too many charter boats of any make out there - most owners are sailing. The "who's attending" list has exploded. We're in for a big update as soon as Kirk gets home and finds a pile of envelopes on his desk. The class has seen a nice bump in membership renewals this week, too.

And with this post, I see I have graduated to Catsailor "Pooh-Bah" status.

Thanks Ding...not sure I want to chop 2 feet off Lucille to fit the rule...

I've got a call into Kirk, but he's off playing at "the ends of the world" (his words!) in Caseville. Hopefully we'll catch up tomorrow.
