Posts: 556 Somers, Westernport Bay, Victo... | Elwood SC is particularly strong for catamaran racing (A class, Dolphin & Paper Tiger). Port Melbourne YC is also very strong and so is McCrae YC. If you feel like a longer drive then Somers Y.C. on Westernport Bay is also very strong with Tornado, A Class, Hobie Tiger, Hobie 16, Hobie 14, Mosquito & Paper Tiger racing.

Posts: 107 Melbourne, Australia | I certainly can't teach you anything but I'm always keen for a sail! I'm a member at Port Melbourne and there are plenty of cats there... mainly Taipan 4.9 cat rigged! A few capricorns and now Greg Goodall's Viper seems to be there semi-permanently!

Posts: 65 Geelong, Victoria, Australia | sounds interesting - we'll certainly try and come down for a few weekends in october. Are there any regulations regarding club membership to enter races, or do we just turn up?

Posts: 556 Somers, Westernport Bay, Victo... | As long as you are a member of a yacht club and have current membership with AYF the most if not all clubs allow visitor entry for up to 3 races per season.
Anything over that and you may be pushing your luck
Naturally, you must have $5,000,000 insurance coverage.
