Forgive me but after thinking about my force 5 I could help but tune into todays medal race for women's laser radial. In an amazing come from the back of the pack, take a risk going way left last upwind leg, she pulled from 7th to 3rd at the mark to pass one more before the finish and take 2nd in the race giving her the gold for the series and USA its likely only olympic gold. I believe she is from the clearwater area. WAY TO GO ANNA, rocking the house for USA!!!

At 1:38:20 on the rewind video we see Anna in 3rd palce only 100m from the finish...pulling up to weather on 2nd palce AUS...suddenly AUS performs a gybe, then immediately tack...giving up 2nd as Anna passes and also China passes...so AUS lost 2 spots. Why did she gybe out? Boats looked too separated to be some kind of foul...Aus was in a position to luff Anna to protect her lead.

What gives?

Why did she gybe out?

Because the judges said she was pumping and broke the rules.

I didn't see any pumping, but Aus was being blanketed.

Any Laser people out there?

Anna Tunnicliffe Rocks!!! She does and many thanks to Anna for giving the UK its fourth Sailing Gold medal of the games.
