This is the first year for the Midwest Hobie Wave Championships at Eagle Creek Reservoir. The Mayors Cup Regatta, long standing for more than 30 years, included our fleet as a class race earlier this year. The new race committee chairman has asked us to return to be included in the Governors Cup ’08! There will be trophies for those that place and plenty of fun after the races with food fun and a party that includes tent party. This is an opportunity to bring back catamaran racing on Eagle Creek, which at one time hosted the Hobie Nationals.
The date for this race? Friday September 5th for signup, setup and get together racing the 6th and 7th. This is only less than a month away! We look forward to seeing you there. Pre registration is very important so as to order the awards and guarantee us a separate start with our own course.
Remember that for those who are interested in professional football the Indianapolis Colts will be playing the Chicago Bears Sunday night at 8:15pm after the sailing. On a first come first serve basis, to generate interest, I will be offering 5 seats sitting with me in the newly built Lucas Oil Stadium free of charge.
