hi all,

new to the group and to sailing. i'm trying to teach myself to sail with a 16 foot beach catamaran called an isotope. does anyone else either currently sail one or have experience sailing one of these boats? would love some advice on a few things. thanks very much!

lots of them in central North Carolina. Carolina Sailing Club is where you should look for a plethora of these boats.

I met some nice people that sail them around the Raleigh area when I lived there. Check them out.

Pete,

Most of the active Isotope sailors race with the Carolina Sailing Club (as already mentioned) in the Raleigh/Durham area. We also just held the Isotope Nationals at Lake Waccamaw (west of Wilmington).

You can get more information about the boat from the builder's website http://www.intl-fiberglass.com/ including the Isotope Manual which should help you rig and tune the boat.

My wife, Joleen, is the fleet captain. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us (email address sent by PM).

Good sailing,
Eric Rasmussen (Isotope 235)
