Has anyone ever used the Power Pole Righting System? Is it class legal? Is it just overkill, will a rope system be just as effective for a fraction of the cost? Thanks in advance for any input! -Peter

I use Gary's solo righting system, which I have found works the best. I like Rick Whites power righting system but it didn't seem to work as well as Gary's on my H16. Plus Rick White's righting pole stuck out off the rear cross beam by about 2 feet (yes you could cut it shorter but then it wouldn't be enough leverage to solo right my H16). Also Rick's system you have to drill holes in the front cross beam and Gary's requires no drilling.

No, righting pole systems are not legal during H16 class racing but are legal during non-Hobie races/open regattas/distance races, etc. With Gary's system you still have a rope that is Hobie class legal that is part of the righting pole system, on Rick's system there is not such rope/line available. Righting lines are H16 class legal but poles or righting bags are not.

Cheers.

I sent you an email and you should of received it a few days ago. Things are picking up on my end and having your system ready for the Trapseat class would be great. I will be putting more comprehesive information about the Solo-righting system you make on the Trapseat sites as soon as I know the H16 system is ready.

I did receive you email so please let me know when your system is ready. Thanks.
