oof. Just talked to Newkirk - water in the shop, parts of the island flooded, breaking waves over the berm and damage to the Key Sailing dock and finger pier. The water that's piled up in front of Ike caught the Panhandle of Florida by surprise this morning. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I was looking at the wind field and it REALLY reaches out north. I saw 47 mph winds on a buoy just off the P'cola coast.

That sucks for Kirk. Good interview, I don't think I'd have been near as cordial.
Everybody down there stay safe.

Waiting in Houston for Ike to make landfall. Went to Pensacola last weekend to put the ARC on the trailer after the Gustov tidal surge put it on the rocks. Ouch! Sure will be glad when hurricane season is over!

Port hull is damaged pretty badly, but can be repaired. Starboard hull has a few nicks and gouges. Most of the damage is below the waterline. Bottom line; about $10K to fix.

On a good note, made it through IKE yesterday. Galveston is a disaster. Houston Yacht Club was pounded pretty badly. Lots of big boats stacked on each other.

Anyone heard from Lee?

Any pictures from HYC? This doesn't look like I recall:

Tornado,

the pic you're showing is of a marina near Galveston. Not to say that HYC isn't pretty beat up. Go to NOYC.org and there are several links to pix of HYC listed at the Message Board.

Wicklund, the Grangers, the Greens, the Gradys, and the Liebs are all ok.

Lee and the Greengers got a little water in their houses, and cleanup is ongoing at least for the Grangers (I believe Lee is home too). Not sure whether Chris Green is back yet.

The Gradys have a house, or at least they saw their house on TV, so not sure about the damage but the house is apparently standing.

Stephanie left her boat but is ok (so is boat) - she stayed in the marina clubhouse.

The Topwater is gone - apparently San Leon took quite a beating. I understand the Dike got washed away, but it did do its job since TX City didn't do too badly as I understand.

There is some posting going on at the TCDYC group.

The Beaumont guys are ok so far as I know

Lake Chuck took a beating but I hear everyone got their boats out and are ok
