One of our fleet members just bought a new Bimare V1 after the European championship where the boats did well. It is well priced against the Flyer and seems to be at least as fast. It is much more beautiful in person than the first photographs I saw. I was surprised to see none were registered for the North American A-class regatta. Is Vectorworks not making the V1?

I agree that the new BIMARE V1 is indeed a fast boat even if it has not got any major event so far (however no 6 V1s occupied the first six places at the 2008 Italians).
With regard to yr question I suspect that no V1 will ever land on the US coast since the current exchange rate makes the Italian boat too expensive.
Nowadays Vectorworks is building both the "old" XJ and for sure the EVO's hulls, an US product which shows many similarities with the V1. Its designer Peter Cogan owned in the past many BIMARE cats.
