Posts: 471 NC | I filled up with no problem and no lines today in Raleigh @ $3.85 That's because all of the pumps have bags over them so there's nothing to wait in line for. There's no shortage of regular in Raleigh, but driving around in search of higher octane fuel has gotten annoying. | | | Re: Oct 4,5 - Outback Cup, Columbia SC - Whose in?

Posts: 12,310 South Carolina | Aaaa..filled up this morning on the way to work. $3.69 / gallon and I didn't have to wait at all - just got up a little earlier than usual to beat the crowds. It's starting to get better already. But that's OK if you don't want to come...more steak for me.

Posts: 1,253 Columbia South Carolina, USA | greenville/spartanburg is the pipeline hub, so gas is plentiful and cheap there. You can take 85 back home instead of I20 and fill up there.

Posts: 921 Alachua, FL | What is wrong with this picture, sailors talking about gas. We went through this same situation in 1973. I lived in Key West then and was going somewhere to race almost every weekend. We all were carrying 5 or six 5 gallon jugs in our vans. If we ever wrecked it would have been ugly. This shortage is temporary, but it could get a lot worse. I am right now thinking of installing an extra tank in the bed of my truck. In 1974 I had a Ford pick-up with two 25 gallion boat tanks in the bed. I had a range of about 600 miles. By then there was no shortage but it made it beneficial to price shop and get gas at the best price. In retrospect, it was probably a pretty lethal situation!

If gas was a deterrent I would have stopped traveling to regattas a while ago. I'll see you at the steak line. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> | | | Re: Oct 4,5 - Outback Cup, Columbia SC - Whose in?
