Hi
I sail in UK & have ordered a righting bag (can only get one from USA / this web site!)
Is there a certain technique ref height I should haul it up / position in relation to my body (over my shoulder? Do I hang off the bottom? )
Any help welcome!

I tied a loop in mine so I can hook it on the trap hook while I'm leaned back filling the bag up. One less thing to hang onto also. The downside is if you are the type that likes to climb back up on the boat while it is assuming its normal attitude, it can be difficult to get yourself unhooked quickly enough to climb on. It might not work on the F17, just the FXone

I'm boatless.

17 in UK,

The best way to get this setup is to flip the boat on land. Throw your righting line over the high hull. Now, make a loop at the halfway point between the dolphin striker and the bottom of the hull. This will give you enough heigth as the hull is coming over to still have the weight of the bag working for you. Now you can reach back into the tramp storage pouch and secure the bag to the loop. I use the stock bag line. Just remember to hook the line back onto the loop once you string enough purchase to raise the bag out of the water. The bag, if not secured, will do the obvious thing! Once the boat is righted and you have climbed on board, reach down and grab the side of the bag and then the bottom to empty. Stow everything back into the storage pouch and continue sailing. Practice this a few times in the water with friends around and build your confidence.

Having the bag on board allows me to push the boat harder as the breeze increases!

The bag system works but it’s time consuming, increases task loading, and is useless if she goes turtle.

I’m sure the bag would work as efficiently when single handling an F18 or an F20 fortunately these boats are not promoted as single handlers.
