I ordered a new Da Kine harness. There is no sail store in Vegas so I had to mail order. I ordered a medium, and that is what I got. Chart said 32-34 and I wear a 3.

This harness has a velcro waistband. it is 2" from touching, but it is on alastic so I have to stretch it to get it on my waist. The legs are tight. No more room to make larger.

So does a new Harness stretch, or should I have got the Large?

I had a few of these and I am a 33 too. The leg strap on the xl & large I had were the same length. I used the large with comfortable results. Take the harness to a sail or Bimini top place and have new straps sewn on. I didn't fasten the Velcro until I was on the wire because it wouldn't allow me to bend forward without squeezing my ab area. I felt very stable in the DK harness in chop and on longer trips, but for small chop and shorter trips I just use a old Nacra bucket.

So did you notice any difference in the waist on the large?

If your asking if the elastic portion was smaller than no. The harnesses were almost identical in fit as far as the elastic ab belt was concerned. The shell of the harness felt bigger though. It was tight on both of them if you tried wearing it in the sitting position on the boat. Try the harness with the ab-belt off until out on the wire. Once on the wire you can easily attach the velcro. That's the way i wore it and had comfortable results.
