Dazz, The discussion is around the Portsmouth System which is used in the US Portsmouth Rating System should give you the numbers. But this is not a system I have seen used outside the US. Just like VYC is not used outside Australia. Regards, Phill

Wonder how many blades will be for sale now that the little rating beater is not so much.
No one I know bought into the F16 concept because of the rating. My guess would very few, if any. Are you pissy b/c little boats can be sailed as fast your beast?

Exactly!!!
Actually @#%$$#@^!^!! faster, but that involves seasick crew. That is right seasick. I felt like dropping him at the gate mark and picking him up five races later.

We kept checking the elapsed times this year against the F-18 number and it didn't change the results much if any. Kieth correct me if I'm wrong.
Maybe if you guys would travel a little you could learn some new tricks. Of course I can say that now that my kids are grown and I got rid of their mother, legally mind you.
I left a tear bucket by your boat.

17 yrs old, grew up sailing in the med, 225#s and got seasick on beachcat in our little bay. He gets ribbing daily as you can imagine.:)
Ahhh . . . re run the Race to Oxford if you will.
Overall you two with certainty deserve the Tuesday night planks coming your way. You both are beating "Faster" boats boat-for-boat. AND its really fun to watch you guys gybe or hoist or try to figure out where the gate is hehehehe.....
Chris. I don't think this year's Oxford race is worth re-running as far as getting some boat performance info out of it. The conditions were lousy for everybody.
Marc S reworked the Hammond Race elpsed time at 63 and John still won. I can't find the email but I'm pretty sure it went that way. That one had a pretty good mix of uphill and downhill. That particular breeze was just right for John to be able to wildthing the Blade and roll some boats. But he was nice about it.

no doubt on both accounts. Sittin in the middle of that little tramp, hull up, going faster and lower than us with a very polite smile. At least he didn't wave as he went by.

Is that because you are too cheap to buy it from the manufacturer <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />? Come'on, we know you want one. You'll no longer have to worry about crew...but then there would be not excuses either (LOL).
Enough ribbing....Let's give Ed, John, and Constantine credit. They are excellent sailors that have mastered the F-16 for the conditions that we see in our part of the Chesapeake; especially Tuesday evenings where the conditions are not the N20's fortay. If it was not for their results at WRCRA and efforts (also Mark's); we probably would not have seen a mid-year rating adjustment nor down to a 63. Frankly, there will always be an issue until we all sail the same cat.
BTW, I'm sending some cheese to go with the WHINE in Ed's bucket. hehe.
