Having trouble searching for the thread that addressed this item..

My O'neil split-toe surf booties have finally given up the ghost, and it's time to think about a new pair.

Any thougths? I see Gil's got something similar, but I think there may be an advantage to the stiffer sole on the Harken Vortex shoes, at least for catsailing.

They don't have a stiff sole, but I have been using Gul _strapped_ slippers for a number of years. They have great grip and are pretty cheap (although not as cheap as I remember now that I see the current price).

Jay, our weather is a bit cooler up here. Switched to the Gul zip boot (high-top)and have been really pleased with the thickness of the sole. May be a bit warm for Florida though. Gul does make a quality product.

If you like something thin that gives you lots of traction and great feel for the boat - try the Zhik boot-450. If you like a slightly heavier/more traditional trapeze boot - go for the Boot-250. Both are available on the Catsailor online store.

Don't see the zhik shoes on the catsailor site.. only gil.

Maybe this is too late, but I really like my Keen's as they seem to be very sticky/grippy and my feet breathe in them. Matt really likes Merrell. Good luck with your feet.
