Only one F17 showed up, but it was worth it. There was a F18HT sailing without spin, a Nacra 18 square, a Mystere 4.3, a Fiberglass shark and a Hobie 16. Those were the only cats but there were approx. 30 leaners there also.

Saturday the wind was around 15 and we got in four races. Some of us went swimming. Some more than once. The racing was pretty close between the F17, 18 sqauare and the F18HT and it was a blast weaving in and out of the leaners picking each other off.

Sunday there was a lot less wind, as in it might have gusted to 5 once or twice. The racing was still close but it came down to who got the wind last. We sailed three races before turning it in.

Final results
F17
Nacra 18 square
F18HT no spi

It wouldn't be right if I didn't mention how big the party was. There must have been around 100 people in several huge tents. The tents all had sides and heaters inside. One was set up with band and dance area, one was loaded with food and one was full of tables. Everyone had a good time. I've already marked it on the calender for next year!

4.3 is a sweet little boat isn't it. I bought one to learn spin on. Sold it and ready to move up to F17.

Joe,
Thanks for the write up! I guess it is not to early to start planning the 2009 sailing season for you northern folks. Last I heard, there is a F17 group coming down to Pcola in March for the Performance Midwinters and the date is usually the 3rd weekend of the month. It is a great way to shake off the snow (and rust) and begin the '09 season!!
