Bad weather forecast produced a light turnout. Nine boats total? 1. Robbie Daniel/Seth Stern, F18 Capricorn. 2. Matt/Gina McDonald F16 Blade.[I did not sail at all.]
Two races yesterday before the front came through. We left at 8:30 this morning, winds 23-28, race course planned for the inside rather than the Gulf. Very gusty, wouldn't be at all surprised if there is an abandonement.
Dinner Saturday night was great! Catered by local restaurants as usual. A bunch of us crowded around one table and listened to old war stories from the Key Largo Steeplechase! Good fun.
Clearwater Community Sailing Center,
http://clearwatercommunitysailing.org/index.shtml is hoping to host Area D next year. I'm all for it, they have, probably, the best venue on the Gulf coast, maybe the whole State. I'm partial to GYC, of course, but you have to give credit where it is due. Kudos, Clark, and to the small army that makes it happen.
