Was looking through some mozzie photos and came across this picture.

What is the blue line (not the righting line)? Take-up for downhaul, spin sheet? I can't figure it out. Is there a photo of it from above?

That's my downhaul line with bungee between the ends going around a couple of pulleys under the tramp. Keeps the tramp clear.

The downhaul lines run through rings or eylets attached to the sidestays just above the chainplates and then down through the tramp.

Thanks for that, it makes sense now.

It looks like the bungee tails are connected to something else, possibly the spinnaker sheet turning block strop. Do they pull the blocks up to the main beam hence taking up some spinnaker sheet slack when it is unloaded?

The pulleys for the bungee are tied to the beam with the same piece of string that the spinnaker pulleys hang from, but it is tied solidly to the beam and doesn't move.

There isn't any spinnaker sheet slack when the spinnaker is down. It all goes in the chute.

The retrieval line running through a ring attached to the clew (by light bungee), pulls the clew and the sheets into the chute.

Ah that's right. Completely forgot what that ring was for and haven't bothered rigging it the last couple of times. That should help next time.
