I'm working on something and I need some help from anyone...
I need a picture of a crowded beach with all the boats on it, finishing, or etc. For example, this year's Holywood finish with all the people watching and cheering as the boats were finishing.

Also, any information about hits on various websites during the race... Catsailor, Seacats, etc?
Thanks!

"crowded" is a loaded word, there aren't many landings where there are "lots of people" around to be honest. Sadly those days have passed. Hollywood is probably the best bet as far as crowds are concerned. You have the brickwalk and all the people around there.

Unfortunately I can't get you hitstats on velocitysailing.com because right after the T500 we switched hosts and I do not have access to that data anymore.

If you are trying to get promo material together, then just point them towards BK's videos man. They've worked in the past for us.

E-mail Rick and ask him. He takes loads of pictures while covering the race. And he doesn't charge anything for them.

I've got some images I snapped last year for that very purpose. You're welcome to these.

Jake... that is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thanks!
My favorite was when Cat in the Hat and Seacats were coming in for the finish and the crowd was cheering Cat in the Hat to pass Seacats.

Tad... thank you as well! I'll check those pics out.

And Mary.. i'll be shoot Rick an email right now... I know these stats were in the magazine a year or two ago but I lost that issue.

Thanks again!

Yeah, well...not MY favorite moment! grin

(not the fact that Cat in the Hat were that close but that they were getting all the cheers!).

Todd,
In case the emails fail, here what I have in answer to your questions:
Hi Rick,

Any chance you could tell me some stats on the hits of the catsailor site during the tybee?

Hits normally per week? Hits during the Tybee week?

Thanks!

-Todd
Hi Todd,
I don't have a weekly report.., just monthly. Here is what I see:
Month Hits
Feb 5.3 Million
Mar 5.75 Million
Apr 5.72 Milliion
May 7.4 Million (this is during the event)
June 7 Million (still has residue from Tybee Spike)
July 6.5 Million
The rest of the year has been over 6 million and a couple near 7 million.

I might add that during the Worrell 1000 days, our normal hit pattern was about 4 million per month and spiked to 6 million per month. Reasons? Well, perhaps because it was a longer race, and it was a more photogenic race due to the Outer Banks portion.

Hope this helps,
Rick

Keep in mind that for most advertisers the key website analytic is MONTHLY UNIQUE VISITORS, not hits.

Adventure Online TV Tybee 500 total video views is approximately 50,000 views for the last couple years.

Unfortunately we cant say for sure each year if we will make the race or for how many days, but we will try and do something each year.

We will be relaunching our homepage shortly (within a week) with a new layout, and the Tybee videos will be added again over the next couple weeks.

Brian
