Anyone home? what's new? how are the building projects?

7 new F16s from AHPC are due in FL sometime in the next month. All sold and ready for homes.

How many F16 does FL count at the moment? 7 Vipers at once! That's a whole new fleet at once :-)

Yeah, but 3 of them are going to end up in the Mid-south area. I don't know where the other 4 are going.

FL probably has a large percentage of F16s in the US. I do not have the info with me, but I bet at least a 1/3 (or more) are in Florida.

The Vipers will be dispersed between:
Memphis, TN (2)
Birmingham, AL (1)
Pensacola, FL (1)
Panama City, FL (1)
A new AHPC dealer in the NorthEast (2).

The AHPC dealer is also getting a Capricorn F18 to start his/her dealership.

That is a lot of boats to add at once. Some are avid racerrs and others are not. hopefully, we will see some of them in 2009.

Which one of those is the guy in Gulfport with the Viper, and does he come out much?

This homebuilder have maxed out his task list. Spent the few hours I had last week on cleaning up in the workshop so we can start a new and cleaner life when building.

Matt Lynch usually sails with his son Zach(?), who is about 10y.o. They don't do really heavy air yet, but they've been working with Robbie Daniel. By the time the A/F16 regatta roles around, who knows. Also, I believe Matt works out of State, which can be a problem as you know.

So he's not on the above list? So should we give him a team name that begins with a T and put him on the list?? grin

Robi's boat is back in Jacksonville too.

Should be a good turn out for the F16 event in April and the rest of you guys take note and clear you plans for November, because the Global Challange should be a great event.

With the Vipers Greg and Robbie should be on the line, and there are several other World class sailors I know of who now have this event on their callendar.

Do you guys clean your boats regularly or during winter season? With what do you clean? Just clean water and some soap?

Kathleen, I wash my boat before and after every salt water regatta. At home, on a fresh water lake, I don't wash it so much, usually only before a regatta to get all the -stuff- off it. The Stuff is: Birds like to sit on the mast tip and poop on it and other bugs (spiders, ants) like to build nests/eggs on it.

Why clean the hulls and trampoline for salt? Blocks, lines and rigging I can understand, but I never understood properly why to rinse hulls/beams/rig/foils/sail? The foils need a wash and a polish anyway from time to timem so I never rinse them between sails.

Well I suppose you are correct in that the hulls don't care, but since I have the bucket of suds and hose out, I wash the entire boat, the hulls usually have a lot of road grime on them from trailering, but I want the salt off the mast, beams, blocks, lines, and I lay the sails, harness, life jacket, gloves, booties, etc. out on the lawn and wash the salt off them too. I hang the spinnaker from a tree and spray it down to get the salt off it too.

OK, call me anal...but I like a clean boat. grin

Hey, no worries. Clean is a good argument in itself smile It is just that I never found the technical reasons for the somewhat (in my opinion) obsessive cleaning with fresh water wink
