Just orders a pair of these from Sperry:

[Linked Image]

They have drainage designed into the boot & sole. Look very grippy and may even been a bit stiffer than my Gul trap booties. They've got an internal big toe strap for added control...but it's removable...and since I wear drysuit with goretex feet I more than likely won't be using that.

True, it matches my Spiderman suit. Cool stuff.

Is the sole hard enough for distance racing? I have always needed more support than most booties provide and switched to the Sperry sneaker type shoe.(thanx Craig)

Wow, and here I thought only the designers at PUMA were color blind...

My LL Beans work great. Plain and simple, supposedly a lifetime warranty, which would more than pay for themselves.

do they come in size 15?

Sadly, most sailing footwear doesn't frown

Yes! I bought a pair at the 2008 Seattle NOOD. (discount)
And the Sperry guy told me in confidence that the RED ones are faster. wink

They really to work great and offer excellent traction against the hulls. No scuff marks.

Don, how did the toes hold up? Have had trouble getting one season out of most booties. The tops wear out on the mesh H-17 tramps. Have had good luck with the Sperry Sailing Shoes with the hard toes.

Caleb,
2008 was one of my busiest sailing seasons. And I wore those shoes in every regatta. I had NO problems with them holding up, and expect them to last another few seasons for sure.

The toes on this boot is protected by the sole which wraps up over the front. I just inspected mine and they show absolutely no wear on the toes. My trampoline is mesh also.

We should organize the million foot march to fight for equal shoe size rights

Forunately, almost everyone will have two feet, so we'll need half as many porta-potties :P
