With the discussion of college contest being posted, I thought this was timely. I put together a sailing course for my kids school PTO sponsored mini course night series. The course is brief sailing history, knot tieing, life jacket saftey (including setting off my inflatables on volunteers) and building a small model. The models can be built for under $2 per boat. Requires 9 inches of 2x4 precut with bandsaw, 5/16" dowel, 3 grommets, string and fabric remnents for sails and tramp. The completed boat will actually float and sail downwind.

I will attach the instruction image of the boat. If you are interested in the complete instructions, send me an email and I will send you a word doc, pdf or other format.

Mike-
Great idea and follow through! I would love to get the complete instructions- Perhaps Mary/Rick would allow to be posted here (or somewhere on this site??).
So do you have a Pine Cat Derby afterwards?

I have asked Mike for a copy of the plans so I can put them in Catamaran Sailor.

When Rick gets home this evening, I will ask him if he can put them on the website; but I don't see why not.
