Hi,

In one of the last regattas of the last season I gotten overrun by another F18 going down wind.
Bassically we had a club competition longer distance race (70km = 38 knots)with very light wind conditions 4 - 7 knots.
During the down wind leg it was approximatedly 10% faster.
I expect that it had the daggerboards fully down but I am not sure.

Has anyone good down wind light wind settings advice?
Or can someone tell from experience if this can be true?

All info is welcome.

Light wind yes we leave them down. It helps to lift the windward hull, lowering drag.
