There's a couple of Cobra's with spins, Hobie 18 and Taipan 4.9 at the Rivoli Bay Sailing club at Southend in SA. These cats have all just coverted from Lasers so good to support a club swinging to the dark side.
Here's a copy of their flier. I sailed there last weekend great hospitality plenty of wind, nice clubrooms. There are other cats attending dont know what.

Hi Jeff,

Rivoli Bay is a great sailing venue, I was last there in 2000 for a National Title, Managed to do some damage to my shoulder on the way, sailed with pain killers came 3rd overall, shoulder still gives me trouble.(one of the 2 reasons I don't sail much)
Don't think I will go back although it would be great to race the Cora's.

Have been told there will be some or most of the Taipans from Port Melbourne there, looks like the place to be.

We had our marathon at McCrae last Sunday and after an unusually good result for me shocked ( including a reach all the way from Sorrento back to McCrae in 14-18knots) I think I've developed a taste for distance racing. grin Im thinking of making the trip to Torquay on Sunday if the weather looks good. Anyone else going?

Cheers

I am hitching a ride on a keel boat from Williams Town to Geelong as part of Scandia week on Saturday, so depending on body, mind and weather, I will be looking at Torquay for the marathon.

Hi Rob,

I would join you but we have a morning and afternoon race on the Monday with a "pie and lamington" lunch in between. Can't resist either sick so the one day event on Sunday sort of suits.

If I'm in Torquay/McCrae and Rob's at Altona... what are the rest of you up to?

Cheers

Somers Y.C. has it's annual Alan Sanders Cup (yardstick), Commodores Cup (handicap) and veterans cup consisting of 4 races run over Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This is a complete fleet based race series even though there are separate divisional starts. There are usually 60 to 70 Somers yachts competing. cool

Most of the Somers 12 Mozzies will compete and I'm sure that Matt Stone will be keen to race after the Nationals having just missing out on the Westernport Challenge last weekend.

Unfortunately I will miss out since I have a prior committment. cry

Regards,

Peter
