Is there a difference between the 1995 nacra 6.0 and nacra 6.0na, or is this just a typo? If so what are the differences? Thanks

Many differences. NOT a typo.

Taller mast, double diamond wires, larger main and jib, front foil, that's most of it.

Yes, NA = North America. Also, there were aftermarket 6.0s packaged as the Nacra Express by a group of dealers predominately in Florida. Square top main and genoa size foresail.

Wasn't Rick Bliss envolved in the developement of the Nacra 6.0NA or was he just involved with the spinnacker that all those guys ran in New England on their Nacra6.0NA?

Todd,
actually the mast was the same height. The N/A's came in about 92 or 93, I believe. The N/A had a larger main which ended up needing the internal extra diamonds and longer spreaders to keep the mast in one piece. Some of the original non N/A models had a smaller, self tacking jib on a straight traveler track that didn't work all that great. Sometimes I wish I had a 6.0 instead of my N20. It's a smoother ride by far.

hmmm until the bows stuck...I think I miss the big jib in the light stuff and the big spin goin' lower and faster the the I-20 in moderate wind with small chop...

the mainsheet was like working on a chain gang tho! I developed a technique of jamming the tiller between my back foot and the end of the back beam so that i could use both arms on the last bit of mainsheet. That was back when the crew;s union wouldn't allow them to touch the mainsheet cos it was a bit too much like hard work.

Super smooth ride though.

I remember crashing John Schwartz's and watching him bounce off the bridal foil with his hip. OUCH! His wife saw the bruise on his hip and said he couldn't sail with me anymore.

I once astonished the crew and several specatator boats in Charleston by pitchpolling around A-mark - the boat drove in submerging both hulls to the daggerboards, we went flying, and the boat popped up backwards out of the water like a cork and flew in the air some apparently ridiculous distance. I surfaced in the water to the sound of applause and cheering.

Someone, that I guess is still undecided said:

I really liked all the bells and whistles. I guess you had to know your boat, I little color coding of the lines, it was never a problem for me.

And the boomless main, a real treat I thought.
I guess you had to have some understanding of sail shape, clew outhaul, downhaul, and mainsheet tension to keep it efficient, again, never really a big problem for me. The boom does take some of the work out of this equation.

N A = NORTH AMERICAN, not north america. splitting hairs I know.
I always thought that the stick was longer on the NA, guess not.

It was a sweet ride. I always liked a High Aspect spin myself. I used an I20 spin, then a H fox spin. I never went for the barn door NE spin.

Although it had long bows, it would stuff when things weren't right.

An I20 won't stuff? AS IF!!!!!!!!!

I once posted pictures of my homebrew spin snuffer, it was functional and NOT $. Looked like a big black snorkel on the spin pole. Capt Kirk would remember that one, one year in the Great Texas.
