Posts: 98 Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA | Hi forum, In this slow period I thought I’d mention a small modification to my Blade tramp. I added 2 grommet holes last June and felt well satisfied with the results. Previously I’d been using the rotator line hole for the rotator as well as the spin snuffer line. Sometimes the two lines interfered with each other and I didn’t like the angle of either. I added a grommet directly foreword of the original, just behind the tramp storage pouch, for the rotator line so that it pulls on more of a straight down angle, yielding better mechanical advantage and less strain on the tramp. At that same distance from the main beam but directly in line with the spin snuffing sock I added another grommet so that the retrieval line pulls directly out of the sock. Both systems work better and also they don’t interfere with each other. Attaching a pic taken from below the tramp with the main beam at the bottom of the pic. The interesting swirling in the tramp is because I’ve a porous awning fabric staked over the boat for the winter. Will PS i don't know how to attach photo, sorry.

Posts: 2,921 Michigan | I have been thinking about making the same modification and would love to see the pic. I have my halyard running from the halyard cleat on the front beam to a turning block then to the front right corner of the tramp to a block which then runs under the tramp to another turning block at the back of the snuffer bag. sounds convoluted but runs better than having it run across the tramp front to back. my email is patrickpettengil at gmail- dot- com if you could send it that would be great.
