Hi Folks -

Even if you don't race on an F18, you're going to want to check this out.

Your $25 in dues goes farther than ever - many thanks to our supporting businesses. And look for some exciting news about event sponsors for the NAF18 Championship in California.

Somebody must be a little behind on updating members...I renewed, so bring on the goodies!

I'll pester my fellow F18's down here so they pay up.

Yeah, there is a bit of a delay but Mr. Lennard will get caught up, he always does.

I'm sure all will get caught up. Nicely done to whoever worked out so much business support.

It's all new stuff that has been in the works for a couple of weeks. Dave is just now getting the authorized certificates to include with renewals. Every 2009 member will get them, including the five intrepid souls who renewed already. wink

Wow... I have never heard of a class advertising to non boat owners to join simply because the free swag is just so good!

No need to come up with reasons to join the class when you can shower them with booty!

Good job John et al!

Still, it still might be better in the long run to make that case... just in case they don't like the stuff! smile

Besides if they don't choose to join the F18 class your reasons just might convince them to join their own class!

Shouldn't you rename it to the US F18 class, or is Mexico still included?

Yes, it should be the US F18 class, but it's an issue that has been slipper than expected to nail down and honestly we have bigger fish to fry.

Our top priorities at the moment are:

Membership & SWAG (well done Mr. Williams)

Measurement Certs in time for the NA Championship (yeah I know there's the name again), measurement certs are a bit of a tough nut to crack.

Find Area reps that are active and willing to identify a regatta as their area championship.

Revamping the fleet website to make it more informative and active.

Fleet rankings and it's role in deciding our Worlds teams.

So until the 09 North American Championship we're the NAF18 class.

That's a pretty cool toy!

Why does it show more dots than paid members? Or, do the different dot colors indicate something else?

It's a Frapper map that I set up for my website about a year or so ago - the different colour dots are the different makes of boats. People can add photos, local fleet website info, etc. Good idea for all classes, really - fun tool.

That is a common point of view. Join the class for the nationals.

If you feel that it's only worthwhile to join for nationals... Why not just ask the class to raise the national entry fees by the proper amount and save every one the book keeping?

Don't forget that the Glaser Sails special only runs through next month! Your time is running out to save a big wad of cash on your next sail just by renewing your $25 membership. If you're driving an F18 and can't figure out why the class isn't growing faster in the US, check to see if your name is on this list.

Not alot of F-18 action in my area but I will give up the $25 to support the class. I don't need the sails from Glaser but the Snu discount, I can use .
